Have a Gusto Day!

Some drawings I did of a coffee cup from Cafe Gusto while in a lecture. I drew it in a moleskine then changed the colour and tidied it up a little in photoshop.

When the big fat lady sings...

Old Stuff..

I decided to update my original post on this first year project as I found it when I was sorting through some work, these pictures do it more justice than the scans I think...

The book was based around some letters I found from my Grandmother which I edited into a lose narrative and four 'chapters' I then designed a different theme for each.

This is the book from the outside the 'cover' is a ribbon and luggage label and the book is in four envelopes. The date stamp is supposed to be indicative of the month the letter was sent, and the postage stamps show a tree in the different seasons they were sent.

In the first letter my grandma talks about a knitting pattern she has found on Roger Moore so I designed the letter around a knitting pattern/ magazine which opened up to reveal the letter.

The second book was a letter about birds and how my Grandma had cut a huge chunk out of her hair to give to the birds to use in there nests... (my Grandmother is slightly mad)

Above are the original scans, (click on the images to enlarge) below here they are made into the book, you can't tell very well in the photo but the bird's face pokes through the little window.

In the third letter she talks about chocolate so I made it into a box of 'Gold Tray' which folded out into a concertina- you can't see in the photo but the back page has a second layer with less chocolates and more spaces...

The last letter was based on a 'Tressy' doll my Mother had, I designed a 'box' and inside is the interior box with Tressy's accessories (my grandmother mentions a dress in the letter so I desingned Tressy's dress to her description.)

Summer Picnic Poster...

\

This is a poster I did for the 'Friends' Of Horfield Common' Annual picnic. The first one is the finished article, after they added the text (not my choice) and the little one is what I provided them with. I did one last year and the year before and looking at them it is easy to document my improvement. Also, this only took me a couple of hours one evening and I drew it all from my imagination where as for the previous ones I used reference pictures and a light box if I remember correctly.

This is the poster I did for two years previously - unfortunately I cannot find the one in between then and now.
